Microsoft Teams

Microsoft Teams is a communication application to enhance collaboration and learning. High-quality video and audio conferencing, collaboration tools, chat, breakout rooms, file sharing, recordings and automated transcriptions are built into the app. You can use Teams to interact with students in an online or face-to-face course.

All University of Louisville faculty, staff and students may take advantage of this enterprise-wide platform. 

Microsoft Teams Integration with Blackboard

Session 1: MS Teams for Teaching Basics

Whether you're new to Microsoft Teams or looking for a refresher, this introductory session will help you confidently set up your virtual meeting spaces. Educators will learn how to integrate Teams into their Blackboard courses for seamless virtual meetings. We will cover how to schedule and manage Teams meetings directly from Blackboard, ensuring students can easily access class sessions. Additionally, participants will learn best practices for recording meetings and moving recordings to their Blackboard course for easy student access.

Session 2: Advanced Features in MS Teams for Teaching

Take your Microsoft Teams teaching experience to the next level with this advanced session! Educators will explore how to create and manage breakout rooms to facilitate group discussions and collaboration. We will cover additional features such as polls, reactions, whiteboards and other interactive tools to enhance student engagement. This session is designed for instructors who are familiar with the basics of Teams and want to explore more dynamic ways to conduct their virtual sessions.
