Student's post and the menu bars disappear in the Discussion Board
The student's post and the menu bars may disappear after you send an email to the author on the Email Forum User page within the Discussion Board. After sending the email you are returned to the Thread Detail page with an empty thread box and no top or side menu bars. Only the view of the post is missing, the actual post is still visible by re-entering the Discussion Board.
You must reset your Blackboard instance to continue using Blackboard normally. Close all browser instances of Blackboard to continue. Enter blackboard.louisville.edu in the address bar. Select the Login button. You are still logged into Blackboard, simply navigate to your course to resume your activities.
Also note: Selecting the Collect button in the Discussion Board can produce similar results. Follow the steps above to reset your Blackboard instance. These issues have been reported to Blackboard.
Expect "Warning - Security" Popup Window
If the Security Warning Certificate appears it is expected and is OK to accept. The certificate will contain Blackboard, Design Science, or Web_eq_applet. Please choose [Run] and *Always trust...* for Internet Explorer 7 or [Always] for Internet Explorer 6. Once you have selected *Always*, you will not see this message again unless you update Java.
Course Copying "Discussion Boards Forums" from Course to Course
Currently during a Course Copy with Discussion Board checked, the individual student posts are copied too. This process is only supposed to copy the Forums only. If you have copied a Discussion Board (Forum) you can remove the individual posts one-by-one if necessary. It is recommended that you create new Forums instead of copying Discussion Board (Forums) in the Course Copy process. *Blackboard is currently working to resolve this issue.
