Distance Education
Distance Education provides learning that is independent of time and location. Rather than gathering in a classroom, students and instructors use technology to interact in several ways.
Online Degrees and Classes
UofL offers 100% online bachelors and masters degrees so that students around the world can complete their program without ever entering a classroom. Online classes at the University of Louisville are very user friendly, allowing the student to interact directly with instructors and classmates through Blackboard, the university's online course delivery system. Classes follow the same semester calendar as traditional classes. Students will need a computer and internet access to complete their coursework.
Telecourses
Televised classes are available via Kentucky Educational Television, or the Kentucky Metroversity Channel. Students are required to come to campus only a few times during the semester.
Distance Education Courses
All distance education courses are charged on a per-credit-hour basis. Students are charged 130% of the undergraduate/graduate in-state tuition rate for televised and online classes even if they have already been billed as a full-time student.
The section numbers for distance education courses are 50, 51, 52, 53, 54 or 55.
