Applicants must:
- have a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution;
- pay a one-time $50 application fee (Visiting KYVC students can have the application fee waived. If you will be visiting for more than one semester, notify Graduate Admissions and you will not have to re-apply each semester.);
- provide a completed application form;
- provide an official transcript of all undergraduate course work;
- provide scores for the Graduate Record Examination (GRE);
- and two or more letters of recommendation.
Admission is competitive and generally requires a minimum combined quantitative and verbal GRE score of 800-1000 and a grade point average of 2.75. Conditional admission may be granted to applicants unable to provide complete documentation in sufficient time to be fully admitted for the upcoming semester. Applications will be processed on a rolling basis until all available places have been allocated for a given semester.
To apply and enroll in courses:
- Fill out the on-line University of Louisville graduate application form and pay the admissions fee. U of L Graduate Application
- Print the required number of copies of the on-line recommendation form, which is found by following the link above. Fill out the top portion of the first page of each then forward them to two recommenders.
- Test Scores
- Applicants to all other graduate programs must take the general section of the Graduate Record Examination (GRE). Information can be obtained from:

Princeton, NJ 08541- Some graduate programs also require the GRE Advanced Test in the discipline. Consult the graduate catalog or contact the department for information.
- Kent School of Social Work applicants are not required to submit GRE or GMAT scores. However, applicants to Kent School with a cumulative GPA of less that 2.5 on a 4.0 scale must submit a Miller Analogies Test (MAT) score. Information concerning the MAT can be obtained from:

- Applicants for the ECIS and BDSC programs who have completed doctoral training (e.g. MD, DMD, DDS, PhD) are not required to submit GRE/MCAT examination scores.
