This seminar discusses the reasons enterprises have and continue to move toward team-based organizations. Understanding individual differences and harnessing the power of diversity, goal setting, conflict resolution, and meeting management will also be highlighted
Objectives:
- Understanding individual differences and harnessing the power of diversity as key team skills;
- Understand goal setting and how it requires milestones, measurements, and feedback systems. Successful teams use the goal system to affect these activities
- Identify reasons that communications top the list of successful organizational skills; conversely, when it doesnt work, it tops the list of reasons for failure; To operate effectively, a team must be able to communicate effectively, both within and outside the team;
- Understanding the dynamics and types of decision making is a key to action for effective teams;
- Identify the sources of conflict and how conflict can be avoided or mediated;
- Understand problem solving as it relates to structured, factual action. Effective teams utilize thinking based on data-moving beyond emotion and gut feel;
- Develop and list skills and behaviors of a team in the management of team planning, behaviors, activities, etc. and understand that these are required skills needed to become and remain effective teams.
Instructor: Jim Clauson, an online course facilitator since 1994, has been using these techniques as a business manager and consultant for 20 years.
